"Crusades" : The Holy War

The CRUSADES were a series of war that occurs in Middle Europe at 1095 until 1272. Crusades itself was a religion-driven military campaign waged by Christian Europe. Crusades were fought against Muslims, Jews and Greek Orthodox Christian. The main cause of the crusade was the immediate "order" from the Pope Urban II. He said to the European kings that Jerusalem must be saved from the hands of Muslim's.

Every war has its goal so does the crusades. The crusades main goal was recapturing Jerusalem and The Holy Land from the Muslim's rule and were launched in response for help against the expansion of the Turkish Muslim into Anatolia.

There were nine stages of the crusades :

1. The 1st crusades (1095-1099)
2. The 2nd crusades (1147-1149)
   
3. The 3rd crusades (1187-1192)
4. The 4th crusades (1202-1204)
5. The 5th crusades (1217-1221)
6. The 6th crusades (1228-1229)
7. The 7th crusades (1248-1254)
8. The 8th crusades (1270)
9. The 9th crusades (1271-1272)

Among those war, there are a lot of people who was the 'best' aka The General of War.

In crusaders side, there are many kings and knights who joined the battle. In the first crusades there is a French knight named Godfrey de Bouillon. He is the leader of the first crusades. He proceeded to massacre the remaining Jewish and Muslims civilians and destroyed mosques and the city itself. Another great commander from the crusaders was King Richard I The King of England and he also known as King Lionheart. He led the third crusades. He was called by the Pope Gregory III to recaptured Jerusalem along with other great names from European history such as King Phillip II The King of France and King Frederick I The Holy Roman Emperor. There's something bad happen in this third crusades. When all the crusaders were coenered, King Lionheart proceeded to massacre everyone he found despite his earlier promises.

In the other side, the Muslim's has its own great general. His name was Saladin the Sultan of Egypt. He led his army on the third crusades. Also he was known as a loyal king and he was always keep his promises. He left all the church and shrines untouched. He recaptured Jerusalem in 1187 at The Battle of Hattin.

Finally, in this war......


No one WINS.....

The Muslims and the christian agreed to leave Jerusalem to the Jewish until now...


So, there's a war that nobody can win it... And that's the CRUSADES....
